'I was originally intending on remastering this album, and writing a thoughtful description etc, but after receiving orders from above (the monarch) I am excited to release this -fresh off the presses- album to you TODAY!

I'll put it briefly I guess, this album is possibly my favorite album from Simon to date, and is arguably his most conceptual work to date. Honestly the monarch never fails to impress me with his raw talent and forward-thinking & unfiltered approach to music. Fine rapid art. Unadulterated internet music. This album is clearly inspired by the likes Boards of Canada, but it still remains fresh and original. Oh and if you didn't know by now, Simon makes tunes on his phone. Totally blessed.' - may :3

The defining part of- and the most dealbreaking parts of slushwave is its vocals. Usually, slowed down vocals are more uncanny to me than anything, but Desert Sands, and this album in particular turn what is usually a turnoff into one of the most spectacular musical pieces ever. This whole album feels like you’ve been transported into a place transcending all known nations or environments, language or culture.
